I graduated with my BA Economics in 2007 and I hop to return to school to pursue my MS and possibly PhD in Applied Econ. During undergrad, I took Calc I-III, Vectors, Linear Alg, DiffEq, Introductory Logic/Proofs. I have not taken Real Analysis or Probability, as many Econ Depts want - but the school that I want to go to doesn’t require these.
My question is this - how should I best prepare for the 1st year micro sequence not having been in school for so long. I’ve forgotten all the math since I haven’t used it on a daily basis.
My question is, how should I prepare for graduate school? Should I pick up my old Calc + other math books and go through every one of them or is there a book that will have all the info? For instance, I know many Econ programs use this book in the 1st year refresher course: Mathematics for Economists by Carl P. Simon. Would this alone be sufficient?
Thank you
