Ms. Sun! or anyone else who can answer this question. Please help!!

Hello there

something has been bothering me for the longest time and I was hoping to ease my mind through this thread.

I took a pre-calc class and failed it 3 times at my previous CC, so i couldn't register to take the class within that CC system anymore. (i have a million excuses) -_-

Anyways, I moved to another city and started attending a new CC that "allowed" me to take the pre-calc class again. I worked my a** off and got an A, and have since moved on to two calc classes in which i also got A's (still surprises me)

here are the possible problems though. The previous CC was running on the quarter system and the CC i am at now runs on the semester system. Will the precalc grade from the semester school completely replace the F's from the quarter school?

I was only able to take the precal class (informally) because the admission and records system at my new school did not account for the fact that i already took and failed the precalc class 3 times.I was able to register for the class without any problems. I know for a fact that is not allowed by California community college guidelines. I was almost in tears on the last day of class because during the whole semester, i was constantly worried that someone would run into this fact on my files and force me to drop from the class.

I just didn't want my academic history to stop me from continuing with my education, especially when i was willing to continue going to school.

Is that what you’re asking?

It will replace the grade, but you should still look into academic renewal.

@CURI0US, the “three-attempt” restriction is posed by CCCs only and has more to do with budget than academic performance. The UCs will count the A you received and no consider the previous three Fs. But it’s always a good idea to seek academic renewal to remove the Fs to eliminate any possibility of those being counted.
