MS vs MA Degree: What's The Difference?

Hi,

I got accepted at a Master of Arts (MA) journalism program, but also at a Master of Science (MS) journalism program.

Does anyone have good insight on the difference between the two degrees and what that might mean for jobs/career

I got into Boston University’s MS Journalism, as well as both Northeastern University’s and Emerson College’s MA Journalism programs.

Thanks!

Generally speaking, MS vs. MA across different universities doesn’t really matter. Typically, that’s just the credential the school is authorized to grant, and that could be for a variety of historical and administrative reasons. Consider the school’s academic and career/professional development offerings first; you don’t really have to worry about the exact letters.
