MS vs MEng

I've read a few threads about the differences, but I'm curious what the engineering forum thinks. I have a chance to get an MEng degree, here is my thought:

I'm a bit ahead in school but can't graduate early(all my classes are only offered once a year). I figured I was going to knock out some graduate classes(or get a minor).

I need 36 hours and I can use 9 hours from my 400 level undergrad degree and I think I have room to take 18 hours in just normal graduate classes. That leaves me with 12 hours. I was thinking I could take those classes at another school and then transfer them back to my school(Mines) to finish out the degree. I am allowed to transfer up to 12 hours. I can't seem to find anything that says I can't do that.

Assuming I can do that, would that be more beneficial than holding out and getting a MS degree vs. the MEng degree? In the industry(oil and gas), what exactly is the difference?
