Msa .. ?

I randomly was looking at accounting stuff at the nyu website and noticed that nyu offers a joint undergraduate/Master of Science in Accounting. Is this just some fancy wording, or does one get an MSA? Is it just that everyone that does undergrad gets an MSA, but nyu is the only one that actually describes it as a joint undergrad/MSA? Is there any difference between getting an MSA and sitting for the CPA exam, and not getting an MSA and sitting for the CPA exam in terms of better job opportunities? I looked through the some of the schools I got accepted to, and none of them offers the joint degree, and yet they all take the CPA exam. Do any other schools offer joint undergrad/msa? Do any schools offer a joint undergrad/msf? I don't really know how to search for this information, so any help would be appreciated.

& can someone give me a comprehensive answer to what the 150 credit hour requirement entails? When they say credit hours, they mean like normal class credits right? How come all the examples of curricula that i find don't go up to 150? I assume the rest are for electives, but some of the sample curricula already have some general electives included.

As far as I know, it's a new program NYU is starting because, starting pretty soon, NY State will require 150 credit hours for anyone who wants to become a CPA so you'll basically have to have a masters in accounting to sit for the exam. I'd call up the accounting dept for more details though, because I'm not an accounting major and only know very general details about it.

However, my impression was that the 150 credit hours thing was already a requirement in other states, so I'm surprised that there aren't any joint programs. Perhaps they just make you get a masters separately, and then you take the CPA exam?

MSF =? Masters in Finance? I don't know why you'd even want to do it... I don't think I've ever heard of it being a credential worth getting...
