<p>So my friend is debating doing MSE or MechE. He is a pre-med, meaning he will eventually want to go on to med school.</p>
<p>Anyway, should those plans go south, what would be the better major, and why?</p>
<p>He said he is interested in the oil/petro and automotive industries but then again, will go to med school given the chance.</p>
<p>MechE would be the better choice for Petro, though MechE is downright awful for med school. It’s all about the GPA and the premed classes.</p>

<p>Your friend needs to make a choice for himself. Although it is possible to go to med school with a BSME, but you have to take about 2 semesters of chem/bio.</p>
