Has anyone received a transfer acceptance yet?

I had my application in the day it first opened (Obsessively eager... like a freak)

I know they said it could be up to 12 weeks, just wondering if anyone had heard back yet.

Not yet, waiting for my fall transcripts to be sent.

I thought those weren’t required until after acceptance. I thought you did self reported grades and then you sent transcripts after?

Oh really? I’m still waiting for a few grades to come in anyways, so I guess it doesn’t matter.

That’s what they said when I called them a few weeks ago; so confusing.

So I called today to make sure that information was correct and they requested my college transcripts. Ran around all morning putting in request forms and waiting on hold for everybody. Seems a bit silly to do self reported grades if they want transcripts at the same time. . . but whatever they say, I suppose!

Oh I also checked to see if they have started making transfer decisions and they said not yet and probably would not start until January!

Sent in my app and self reported grades so far… Waiting until school opens up again in order to send my official transcripts. 3.11 GPA for 44 credits so far. Looking to transfer with 57-62 credits. 3.42 gpa last fall. Really nervous about hearing the decision made- lol

I belive they won’t start looking over apps until mid January

They changed my application status today and it says they’re currently reviewing my application. It didn’t say that on the portal before. How much longer, you think!

They just changed mine too! My sister (MSU grad '13) said she figured around three business days but not to hold her to it!

Unfortunately it’s still going to be a while longer. I called the office of admissions and they told me they literally just started reviewing applications for transfer fall students. They said it could be 2-12 more weeks for a response. Pretty bummed considering I applied the day the application became available.

Booo. I applied the day it went up too. Well, I know that they do it in order of application date for sure, so we should probably have a shorter wait at least.

What are your stats, fiction?

Application status changed to being reviewed.

3.26 GPA and will have 60 credits at the end of this semester with an associate’s degree. I ran out of credits to take at my CC so I’m taking two classes (for 8 credits) with Lansing Community College (online). An admissions advisor told me a few years ago that they love seeing credits from LCC. I’m planning to get my bachelor’s in English with a concentration in creative writing and a minor in women’s studies (with a focus on sexuality/gender and conflict).

I think I would have been almost certain (of getting in) four or five years ago but we all know they are accepting much fewer!

What are your stats Catsmeow?

Dang, well best of luck to you!

I have 38 credits and a 3.65. I have so much leadership experience with this one health care organization, I actually helped run it last year, and MSU is affiliated with them so I think I have a pretty good shot. Still nervous for some reason, haha.

Sounds like you have a great chance! Good luck to you, too!

Does it hurt or help my chances that I’m applying to transfer from a 4 year public in-state university. If it does help, how much will it affect my decision process?

I think it helps because they have a scholarship opportunity available for students transferring from an in state university with a 3.5 or higher. So I don’t think they’d offer that unless they wanted academic scholars from the state.

In state helps significantly from what I have heard!
