MSU Admissions

Hi everyone. I was wondering what my chances are to get into Michigan State with a 3.0 gpa, a 25 ACT, 100+ volunteer hours, 2 years of honors (honors stops and becomes AP after 2 yrs) and 4 AP classes (US history, Calculus, Psychology, and Government), and a pretty much AP course we have called GBBE. I also did track for one year but quit because it conflicted with marching band which i have been doing all four years.

My GPA took a big hit in my freshmen and sophomore year due to lets just say medical and personal reasons but I’m hoping that the improvement would show that I worked hard to get my grades up. And as another question, what are admissions like for lyman briggs?

Thanks!

You have excellent odds for acceptance to Lyman Briggs and MSU in general. Good luck!

Thanks! Just a quick question. What is Lyman Briggs’s admission requirements and what do they look for in a student?

Your ACT is slightly below admission average but should be fine. However, your GPA is really low.
You can look at their freshmen profile here:

Im not a senior yet so I still have time to get my GPA up a bit. Thanks for the help though

If you want Lyman Briggs, apply early, it does fill up. And it bears repeating, your grades are low. Try to ace your second semester this year.

Since when you apply you put lyman briggs as a major, is it the same admission requirements as getting into MSU or is it different? And thanks to everyone for their help

Ok I took my ACT and got a 26 and my GPA is now 3.42. Is that good enough to get into lyman briggs?
