A while ago I got an invitation to Michigan State University "Green Carpet Day" and I barely looked at it because I figured it was some scam or something that just about everybody gets in the mail. Well now I'm looking online and it says "invitation only" so I'm wondering if I could include it in the honors section on a national level of recognition? I think it's pretty weak but I just want to know if it's legit.

It’s just an invitation to visit the campus and learn about the honors college. You probably got the invitation because you scored well on the PSAT and signed up to receive promotional college materials. Saying you were invited to go to MSU for Green Carpet Day is about as prestigious as saying you were “Sent a Harvard Viewbook.” AKA: not really.

I wouldn’t put that down as a ‘National Honor’; like the above poster said, it was probably sent to you because of PSAT scores, which means that thousands of other people probably got it as well…so basically it’s not really a national honor.

ok thanks guys
