Hello,
I am a HS senior currently admitted to Michigan State for Spring Semester, and will find out my fall status in late May. I've been told I'll eventually get in, but if I dont I was wondering if that would make things a lot more difficult in terms of making new friends? It seems like arriving in January when everybody has sort of made groups might not be so great. Does anyone have any experience with transferring in for second semester, or know someone who has? Thanks

Can someone give their thoughts on this!!

Sorry, it’s finals so everyone on here is super busy.

Anyway, I can tell you that it wasn’t very difficult for people who transferred into my residential college to make friends. They fit in right away. However, residential colleges are different than the rest of the university.

In short, it will be a bit tougher but not too rough. Hope this helps :)

Hey,
I’m in the same situation for this year. Can you tell me anything I might need to know about starting in the spring semester? Was it more difficult meeting people? Anything you can help me out with is appreciated. Thanks

Hey,
My Name is Mike, I was pretty upset to find out that I wasn’t admitted for Fall of my Freshman year, but I decided to take one semester at Lansing Community College and it worked out great! If anything this experience makes you appreciate being a student at MSU so much more. I was admitted to other great schools like; Hope College, GVSU, and WMU, but I’m so glad I waited(I’m not putting these fine institutions down) I just knew that MSU was the best fit for me.
So if you get this option I say TAKE IT! The key is to just stay calm, be patient and get good grades at another school for one semester(or above a 2.1), then you’re a Spartan for life;)
You’re not alone… they offer this option to about 900 or so kids per year, and around 500+ take it.

GO GREEN!
