MSU Transfer 2019

im in the same situation as you guys, ill be coming from a four year private college just outside of NYC, ill have 57 credits completed, and as of now i have a 3.4 gpa. i applied to the school of communication arts and sciences as a media and information major, but i literally haven’t heard anything back yet. i also applied to suny oswego and got in, but ill be waiting until at least april 1st to hear back from the fashion institute of technology, so i still have no idea where i’ll end up next year and its really annoying.

Okay thank you! Just getting worried due to hearing some people already get accepted. Also that’s it’s been about 15 weeks since i applied and they said normally around 8-12 weeks. Has anyone tried calling to hear an estimated time. I’m sure they will just say something like 8-12 weeks or “soon”. And with that i didn’t want to waste my time, plus i didn’t know if it’s like “right” to call.

I got accepted today y’all!!!

did they email you?

@kmalin they did not… at least not yet. I am not sure when it switched either. I checked sometime this morning and it was still under review and checked again at 3:30 and it switched

@rdtosparty congrats!!

has anyone heard anything?

@kmalin nope nothing

@kmalin I know that MSU is on spring break this week so I’m thinking that maybe everyone will hear next week hopefully

MSU spring break was last week. Classes are in session now.

I got my acceptance on the 11th! Congrats to you rdtosparty!

has anyone that has applied for the, media and information major, heard back yet?

thats what i applied for and i havent heard anything

Joining the bandwagon and posting on here. I applied February 22, (a bit late lol) with a 3.62 GPA and total of 66.5 credits to transfer. I’m attempting to get into the Broad college, and haven’t heard anything back yet. I’ve spoken with admissions and they said at the absolute latest, I’ll hear back at the end of the semester. But, I’m still hopeful to be able to transfer!

Thanks @Dowelly congrats to you too!!

I am living on campus next fall and I plan to live in North Neighborhood. Anyone who sees this and needs a roomie… let me know

I talked to admissions just now and the lady I spoke with said that the latest one could hear is possibly August, but if you have everything in its just the waiting game at this point

@amjs88 I like how we both spoke to admissions and got two completely different answers! Hopefully we’ll both find out before the end of the semester!

no literally! Im sure its not very common to hear in August hopefully, but yes hearing before the end of the semester would be extremely nice. Good luck to you!

Hey y’all! I got deferred a while back and decided not to attend since I’m out of state and the tuition is 6x more than the university im at now, but I just found out today that there are scholarships for msu (i probably sound silly but i dont get help with college stuff ahh). I can’t apply for any scholarships on their site bc i’m not accepted, but I wont be accepted/denied until sometime during the summer as they’re waiting on my grades from this semester. Does anyone know who I can contact about this/how to go around it? Has anyone gotten a full ride?

i got accepted for the media & information major!
