Hi all! Here’s my situation: I am junior with senior standing and graduating early next semester with both a BA and minor. I managed to do both in just a little over three years. I maintain a 3.7 cumulative GPA. I work part time but still stayed a full time student through all of undergrad and even volunteer. I have been volunteering at a crisis hotline for about a year now. I am even starting a research assistant position next semester as a professor asked me to assist. For recommendations, I am asking the professor I will research with as well as another very amazing and smart professor who has been helping me guide myself through this whole grad school application process. My third recommender will be my supervisor where I volunteer. I will be applying this coming Fall for admissions for social work programs for my Masters. I am applying to schools like Tulane, Berkeley, USC, NYU, University of Chicago, University of Washington, Rutgers, Columbia, and University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
I was a transfer student from a CC and when I transferred in I had trouble getting the classes I needed as I was Spring transfer so I took other courses to stay matriculated. Among those courses was one that I ended up getting a C in an Anthropology class. And now this semester, after I turned in my last final I got my paper back for the class and it’s going to affect my grade negatively. I do see it going down to a C. It isn’t finalized yet but that’s most likely the outcome.
My concerns stem from that potentially second C I will receive. What do you guys think? Does this cast too much negative light on my application as a whole? Or since it’s one aspect of the application it will even out?
