MT Application deadlines

I am having a hard time finding the application dealines for the following schools. Schools like BOCO and Juilliard clearly state Dec. 1 is their deadline. But these other schools dont seem to show a date. If anyone has any knowledge to any of the deadlines, please let me know. If this has any impact for some of the schools, I am planning on attending the unifieds in nyc feb. 4 & 5.

Thank you all so much for your help!!

ccm's deadline is december 1st also for their online app. you can send hard copies of follow-up info til jan 15.

brown101, as wonderful as this forum can be with providing information, experience, and knowledge, I think that when it comes to such an important issue as application deadlines, you should really call the schools which you are interested in and inquire directly. You don't want to be missing a deadline.

I believe that BW and OCU require all paperwork to be in before an audition. You can check audition dates on their web sites and schedule the auditions without having everything turned in. Neither of these schools go to unified auditions, and I believe you must go to campus. You can check on taped auditions, but I'm not familiar with this possibility.

i'm pretty sure you can send video to ocu.

I finally found info on Penn State, had to really search. For incoming freshman, they recommend filing by november 30, but you can continue to apply til december 31. you just have a better chance with the earlier deadline and find out sooner.

i totally agree, better to be absolutely sure and check with the school. the other thing i'm not sure about is whether all schools require application before audition. so far, this is what i've found to be true. i've also found some of these apps to be quite expensive.

Razorback....that info. you just gave on PSU might be confusing. Yes, PSU has ROLLING admissions and in rolling admissions, yes, it is better to get your app in sooner, rather than later. For instance, it is best to get it in by around Nov. 1 though that is not a given deadline. For REGULAR applicants, not BFA ones, they DO find out sooner when the admissions are rolling. My niece who is not in theater, goes to PSU and found out on the early side due to rollling admissions.

BUT for the BFA, you may not find out sooner if you send the app in during Oct. vs. Dec. That is because unlike some other schools discussed here recently (OCU, Point Park), you don't get an "academic admissions" first and audition later. You find out if you are in or not AFTER you audition. My D applied to PSU for a BFA last year. She filed her application in October if I recall. She had her audition at the very end of February and was sent her acceptance about a week later. Even though she got the app in early, she still had to wait for her audition to get into the school. There was not a separate academic admissions result.

The finding out "sooner" does apply to regular college applicants at PSU. It is always good to get an app in earlier to a school that has a rolling admissions process.

thanks for the correction. that was not apparent on the website.

on OCU
As long as you have begun the application process you may go ahead and schedule an audition. They do want to have received all app. paper work by the day you arrive to audition.

And yes, OCU will take a video submission if received by a certain deadline.

brown101:

I just checked our website, and it turns out that we don't have a statement about the timing of an application for admission. I apologize for the oversight. That will be corrected soon. But here's our policy: We want you to schedule an audition as soon as you can. We only require that you submit an application for admission to the College before you actually audition. You do not have to have been admitted to the College before you schedule an audition or before the audition itself.

Here's the link to our admissions page: <a href="http://www.otterbein.edu/admission/talent/theatre_dance.asp%5B/url%5D">http://www.otterbein.edu/admission/talent/theatre_dance.asp</a></p>

Hope this helps.

Thanks you all so much. I fully indend on reaching the schools but for time purposes (at school til 8 everynight). I very much appreciate all of yur help as you all ae so helpful. Any additional help would be wonderful. Thanks again

Hi...glad you are intersted in Oklahoma City University.

You must have started your admissions process before you come to audition. I HIGHLY recommend that you send in an application now since the audition dates for February (10th and 11th) are filling up. Some people waited before booking an audition date in November and found one of the audition days closed a month before the audition.

You may also submit a video for MT admissions consideration. Here are the requirements:

<a href="http://www.okcu.edu/music/audition_info.asp%5B/url%5D">http://www.okcu.edu/music/audition_info.asp</a></p>

Also, if students submit their OCU Admisisons Application between December 14th and January 1st, we'll be waiving the regular $30 processing fee. Just our way to start your holiday season off right!

Yeah I spent a half hour looking on NCSA's website last night. Ok, go to the theater department and look for the audition dates. It tells you when the application is due based on the day you are planning to audition. I know that for San Fran the due date is jan. 5 so i am sure your fine.
