Does anyone know of any good colleges for drama or MT in England? Our family may be transferred and it may be easier to study over there but I don't know how to find out about the reputation of those colleges. (All I know about is Hogwarts!!)

I recently went to London in August and I actually checked all the bios in the programs (which you have to buy!). The most frequent schools that were listed were: Guildford School of Acting, London Studio Centre, Laine Center for the Arts, and LAMDA. Arts Educational was listed the most. I might have missed some, but those were the ones I could remember off the top of my head.

falloffstage has noted some of the best. The complete list can be found at the following link:

As the site notes, "The Conference of Drama Schools comprises Britains 21 leading Drama Schools. CDS exists in order to strengthen the voice of the member schools, to set and maintain the highest standards of training within the vocational drama sector, and to make it easier for prospective students to understand the range of courses on offer and the application process. Founded in 1969, the 21 member schools offer courses in Acting, Musical Theatre, Directing and Technical Theatre training."

There are links to all 21 schools.

If you do a search on "musical theatre" on the Guide to Courses page, you'll find that there are 6 schools which offer "courses" in Musical Theatre, but 2 of those (Central School and Royal Scottish) only offer post-graduate MA degrees. That leaves only four. I suspect, however, that many graduates of Acting programs are working successfully in musicals in the UK. MT programs are a relatively recent addition to the curricula of these schools.

Although you didn't ask for this reason, some of these schools are looking for American students. Both Royal Scottish and Liverpool came to this years Unified Auditions in Chicago.

In any case, the CDS site is a good place to start.

Good luck.
