A few days ago I received an email inviting me to the Bates College Mt. David Research Summit, and then today I received a letter from one of the Professors, also concerning the Summit. He said I had an impressive application and that he hoped I was admitted, so I was wondering if this was a mass invitation sent out to all the applicants, or if I should take this as good news…

My D received that letter as well. I took it as a good sign, but who knows.

Atlas1601 and movinmom-are you or your daughter visual artists?

Or did they apply for a common major?

My D did not apply for any major and has no background in the visual arts.

last year my son got the invitation and letter from faculty-he was accepted

b'smom, did he go? what did he think.

I did not apply for any major either, and I don't have a background in visual arts.

My D was admitted in December, received the invitation and is planning to attend the summit. Sounds to me like a good sign for those getting the invitation...
