Mt. Harvard is the highest peak in the Collegiate Range

The highest Collegiate peaks – a definitive ranking

The famed “Collegiate Range” is located in the Sawatch Mountains in Central Colorado. Here are the peaks, ranked by height, with guidebook commentary and a link to a picture of each:

Mt. Harvard (14,414 ft) “The view from the summit of the highest Collegiate, a popular destination, is superb.” Mt Harvard http://www.14ers.com/photos/HarvardGroup/200309_Harv02a.jpg

Mt. Yale (14,202 ft) “Among the easiest of the Fourteeners to climb, as it offers no technical difficulties.” Mt Yale http://www.14ers.com/photos/MtYale/200105_Yale04a.jpg

Mt. Princeton (14,197 ft) “The southernmost of the Collegiate Fourteeners.” Mt Princeton http://www.14ers.com/photos/MtPrinceton/200105_Prin02a.jpg

Mt. Oxford (14,153 ft) “The longest hike.” Mt. Oxford http://www.summitpost.org/images/60563.JPG

Mt Columbia (14,073 ft.) “Offers a good view of Mt. Harvard”

Mt. Stanford only at 13963!?

Another example of ridiculous under-ranking.

Stanford is the real number 1.

Mt. Stanford, unfortunately, is not a Fourteener, and is "one of the Sierra's least visible major peaks."

http://climbing.gransasso.us/1999/Keith/Mt_Stanford.jpg

I'm talking about schools, not mountain peaks. The google boys are putting Stanford over the top (even though they didn't go there for undergrad).

These rankings get more crazy every time... O_o

"Offers a good view of Mt. Harvard" :P

Haha.

Towering at 14,433', Mt. Elbert edges out Mt. Harvard by a staggering 19 feet. Now where can we get one of THOSE applications?

http://www.14ers.com/photos/MtElbert/200508_Elb01a.jpg

I would say Princeton is a bit higher than yale......;)

eek! lolz. i think it's hilarious to name mt peaks after schools..

How hard do you reckon it would be to get into Everest University, or maybe the U of K2? You probably need like a 2500 on your SAT or something.

Ooh, I want to go to Rainier U. One o' the tallest peaks around.

edit In the US, I mean.

Sorry, but neither are in the Collegiate Range!

There is, however, a Rainier College in Washington State:

http://courses.washington.edu/colleges/rainier/

... and an Everest College with locations in Texas and elsewhere:
