MT program question! Opinions?

Thank you, cptofthehouse.

Maybe this belongs on the "economy" thread, but you should be aware, and its not a secret that the SUNY system is under huge financial duress. The effects of a quarter billion dollar slashing of the budget is only just now beginning to be felt at the individual campus level. This situation is not expected to abate in the next two or three years. So while they were a deal, both UB and Fredonia are in a bad place for a while. Fredonia has an advantage of having many tenured faculty (whose jobs are secure) who teach MT, UB does not. Caveat emptor.

While that's true, not a lot is affecting or changing our theater and dance program right now.

I'm a senior in the MTR program at University at Buffalo (UB)

It is not a conservatory style program, but because it is a BFA program, where 75-85% of your classes are within your major. But it is definitely a liberal arts degree, with which you will be taking a wide variety of general education courses. UB is a great school if you want the real college/university experience, but yet you'll get the intensive and proper training that you would get at most conservatories.

If anyone has any questions about the program and the school please email me- lbflynn@buffalo.edu
