tinydancer24: How did you hear about Montclair state?

i first got a letter accepting me to the school, about a month ago…
then a few days later came the rejection from the program by mail

anyone know if the Pace rejection or acceptance is a small envelope?

D got a small envelope last week and I was bracing for the worst but it was just follow-up on the academic acceptance. I wish they wouldn’t do that…

I think it will not be good news! I have been getting the pace letters too regarding accepted students day but I don’t have a good feeling.

To make it worse, have a small envelope from Marymount Manhattan … omg
it will be two in 1 day :(

Someone on this board a few years back posted that she/he had auditioned for PSU MT and got a big packet in the mail and was so excited, as it said something like “Congratulations on your acceptance to Penn State.” However, the acceptance was for another academic program (I think it was nursing) and not for a performance related major at all. The kid was naturally crestfallen.

All it takes is 1 or 2 acceptances! Even the people who are accepted to every school can only attend one. That’s why everyone should have safeties that you love so that those few acceptances make for decisions! In 4 years when you are all out in the real world together it will not matter who got into what school- you can’t put “accepted to all of the colleges I auditioned for” on your resume… or I guess you could, but it would be kind of tacky and unimportant. Hang in there, guys! I got 3 rejections in one day once, I know how it feels.

Maggie3, rejection is small envelope for Pace. I’ve gotten so much mail from Pace over the last few weeks and gotten upset each time…when it was usually just related to my honors acceptance/scholarship. I got my rejection on Saturday, though.

Penn State sent me a big packet with a MT rejection, asking me to choose another program, so be aware of that like NotMamaRose posted.

maggie3- I’m a MT at MMC and my acceptance letter as well as many of the MTs I have talked to all came in a regular sized envelope, so don’t fret, it could be good news :)

bcbMT - thanks for the being positive one small was a rejection and the other was acceptance to MMC BFA - Acting, yeah!! D was very excited. Thank heavens, I couldn’t take two in one day.

How do you like MMC? Do you have any advice or suggestions?
Would love to hear your feedback , thanks Maggie

I really loved the brief intro speech Steven Spielberg gave for this year’s Best Picture Oscar announcement.

He listed a number of amazing films and said tonight’s winner would join them. Then he listed another set of equally amazing films, and said the remaining nine films would join those.

I’ll bet if your kids could see a list of all of the amazing and successful performers who were once rejected from these MT schools, they would feel in exceptionally good company!

What is really depressing is getting a great financial aid offer a week after the rejection letter from the school you really wanted to go to. My D does have one acceptance so far so I am very grateful for that. Hopefully the aid will be as good from the accepting school. Still waiting on four more.

^That happened to me this week, I got offered close to a full scholarship from a school that I had just gotten my MT rejection from. =[

Have your kids repeat to themselves: I can only attend ONE program. All it takes is one acceptance. Yes, it’s nice to have choices. But in the end, you can only go to one college (at a time) and most kids will love their schools and a year from now, will wonder why they wanted to go anywhere else.

So true NotMamaRose! Still, it hurts when the rejections come in.

Wfvbcf & tainted, you are not alone. Happened to my D, the financial aid package along with merit scholarship came today just to haunt her.

Keep the faith, there is a college for everyone and, it will end up being the right one.

Reject from CCM, Ithaca and Otterbein (BFA MT.) Still have four other schools to hear from

Sorry to hear that insideoutmnm. Wish you luck on the other 4. Just takes 1.
