MT Scholarships?

Hi! Sorry if this is a duplicate question. Can anyone recommend a good list of MT Scholarships? Are they school- and program-specific? My nephew is applying to Steinhardt, Emerson, UofChicago and some others. I'm helping with the research. If anyone can point me in a good direction, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I know that NYU is all need-merit based, so for that just fill out the FAFSA and rock the audition.

As for the others, I do not know. Sorry, I would try fastweb or the other scholarship sites and look for not necessarily MT based scholarships, but scholarships for other things.

While some schools offer some talent scholarships, it seems that more of them offer academic merit based awards.

Thanks for your reply! Are you enjoying NYU?

I am loving it. Everything about the program is exactly what I wanted. For the most part, the academics are great and the training is awesome. I'm having the time of my life, and who can complain about the city? What a wonderful resource.

If you have any questions about the school itself, do not hesitate to pm me. While I am not in Steinhardt for MT, I do have friends that are. Good luck to your nephew.

I don't know the specifics of the schools you mentioned, but since you said you are also looking at a few others.... I believe Penn State offers MT Scholarships.

There are many schools that offer both merit scholarships and talent MT scholarships.

Ithaca, Harrt & Point Park all offer talent and leadershop scholarships. Try "The Princeton Review", they have a good search engine for scholarships.

I don't know if the information is still current or not, but here's an old thread about merit scholarships at MT schools ...

Thanks fishbowl for that thread. Fascinating!
