Muhlenberg College

Does anyone know anything about Muhlenberg College and anything about their Computer Science Program? Thank you.

It has its own forum, so check there. The campus is pretty. People are very friendly. Girls greatly outnumber boys. Kids seem very happy there. Classes are small

Yeah, my D considered Muhlenberg last year. She applied and was accepted but ultimately chose a different LAC. An interesting thing about our campus visit, my D’s interviewer confessed that about 1/3 of the student body is Jewish, which is very high even for a northeastern LAC. She had no explanation why that situation existed at a college founded by the Lutheran Chruch. Even the campus chapel was Lutheran, but the number of Lutheran students is small compared to Jewish students. Later, one of the tour guides showed us the dorms including her own room. She had a huge Israeli flag - about 5 feet by 5 feet on her wall above her bed. None of this had a bearing on my D’s decision not to enroll. She was admitted to her dream college: Oberlin, and received a nice merit scholarship. Muhlenberg was a match for her and Oberlin a bit of a reach. Plus, she kind of wanted to find out what it would be like to attend school in another state and live in a dorm. Muhlenberg is only 8 miles from our house. :)

I’ll say the following about Muhlenburg: small campus (about 97 acres) but nicely laid out. At least three places on campus to dine, which are two more than at most LACs. First rate athletic/exercise facility with expensive Precor equipment. I"m a workout nut, so this impressed me. The college is an interesting LAC. You can major in accounting or management, very atypical for LACs. But Muhlenberg is also one of the best LACs in the entire country for Theater Arts. They have a first rate performing arts center, if a career in drama or theater interests you. Or go to Wall Street after majoring in business. An odd duality for an LAC.
