I am seriously considering Muhlenberg College, but I have heard mixed reviews about their social scene, and I'm not talking about school-sponsored events.

I heard that on weekends it is very boring with not a lot of parties, and if there are parties, they are often raided. I have also heard the flip side, saying that frats and sororities hold events.

I am in no way saying that partying is the only thing I am interested in at college. I just want to pick a school where I know that on weekends, there is more to do than a mall or movies.

You may want to post this on the Muhlenberg thread for more responses. My D has a friend that attends Muhlenberg and she says the weekends are relatively sedate compared to other colleges she has visited. However, the student base is very friendly so it is easy to find and make friends. It is just not party central.

Sorry for posting it in the wrong section. I’m new to the site and I’m not sure how to work it.

And thanks for the response. I just don’t want to end up going there and have it be boring.

Muhlenberg does a great job of organizing visits and tours. My D attended a few classes, met with a professor and had her interview. I would highly recommend that you do the same and, if possible, arrange an overnight stay with a student. That will give you a very good feel for Muhlenberg. Good luck to you.

BTW, there is a link called “Colleges” where the schools are broken down in alphabetical order. Just select M, than Muhlenberg, and start your thread. You will find that the students there are very enthusiastic about their college.

I’ve actually visited twice and had an interview. Their tours were great and informative.
I have a feeling that once I sleep over and spend the day there I will really get a feel for the school.
