Muhlenberg waitlist

I recently found out that I've been place on the Muhlenberg wait list and I'm unsure of when I'll hear the results or if I have any chance of still receiving financial aid. Does anyone have any idea of the possibilities?

My son was waitlisted too. In the package they sent with the letter there was a sheet titled “Important facts about the Muhlenberg College Wait list.” On the back of this sheet is a timetable:
March 22-April 15 Interested students confirm wait list place by returning a completed wait list commitment card
April 15-25 College finalizes enrollment projections
April 25-May 10 Telephone acceptance offers made to initial group of wait list students
Late May All confirmed Wait list candidates (those who mailed in the card) are mailed a status report.

There is info about financial aid on that sheet as well.

Good luck with the waitlists.
May I please ask you what your SAT breakdown was and if you had good ECs, not including sports? Thank you very much.
This is a school my daughter is interested in and is a junior.
Thank you.

One tip on waitlists… if you don’t need financial aid. Let them know… Those on waitlists with no financial aid requests tend to float to the top of most schools’ lists.

Muhlenberg is no longer “Need Blind”. After being waitlisted, my daughter was contacted by a coach asking about her need for financial aid. The answer was yes, it was critical to her attending. She never heard from Muhlenberg again.

I am also waitlisted at Muhlenberg college any usefull tips to get into top of the wait list and make sure I get admitted ?

Getting accepted and off the Waiting List.

Continuing to demonstrate interest and bolstering credentials after being waitlisted does help, but having no financial need usually helps more.

Competitive schools, like Muhlenberg, use financial aid to help lock-in outstanding candidates. The top candidates receive acceptances and financial aid first. The acceptances and funds are finite and get allocated to a finite number of candidates.

The waitlist is generally a group of students for whom the school is saying,

‘you are a good student, and we believe you can meet the academic requirements we expect of our students, but your application was not compelling enough to put you ahead of the students we admitted. And since you asked for financial aid, admitting you may not be right for us or for you since we’ve already allocated all the aid we had available’

If the waitlisted student explains that Aunt Sophie is ready to help pay tuition and he or she no longer needs financial aid, the doors will often open.

Has anyone received a call with acceptance off the waitlist?

My D got the call yesterday that she was accepted off the waitlist and accepted immediately.

ncmstudent, Congratulations!
I posted last year about my dd and she did ED to Muhlenberg this year and was accepted in November. So happy your daughter got in where she wanted.
There is a class of Muhlenberg 2016 on FB that I know my dd goes on. They have met up a couple of times in the city already. The kids already “knew” each other when they met up on Admitted Student Day. Good luck to you and your daugther!

ncmstudent Congrats!! My daughter was accepted off the waitlist last year and immediately accepted as well. She has had a wonderful freshman year and I wish yours the same.
