Muir or Warren for Comp Sci?

From what I’m gathered, most people agree that Muir is the best college (few GEs, location, etc), but Warren is basically THE college for Engineering. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard too many good things about general life in Warren. Thoughts?

The only reason that people say that Warren is good for engineering students is that Warren changes their GE requirements for engineering students and perhaps because the school of engineering is in Warren (although, of course, you can have classes in lectures halls anywhere on campus, not just in Warren). And because everyone says that Warren has a lot of engineering students, a lot of engineering students who apply select Warren so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. You can be any major in any college, and and there will be students of all majors in every college. There’s nothing particularly magical about Warren when it comes to engineering majors.

Rank colleges however you like. I generally recommend to consider GEs the most when it comes to selecting colleges because that’s the factor that is going to affect you the most. You can also consider location/dorms if you will be living on campus, but most students move off campus for their junior and senior years so at some point the location of your college may not matter. Also, some first-year students don’t live in their college (because they are placed in overflow housing) so the location may not matter.

@baktrax Warren and Muir are easily my top two because of the GE thing, but I think I might be leaning towards Muir. because of location.

Thanks for the extra info on housing!

If you are transfer applicant, check the GE requirements for each college. I’ve read it’s not good for Muir transfer.
