Muir- pharmacological chemistry

how prestigious is this program? i just got accepted and i'm so happy!!

im thinking hard
since i dont know many ppl this that program
probably impacted...

PharmChem is probably the #2 most popular major within the chemistry department (mine, biochem/chem, being the first. hee.). A fair number of its students make it to pharmacy school, but it's pretty much a name thing -- PharmChem only differs from the biochem/chem major by a few classes and it's in no way a requirement for pharmacy school admission.

It's not impacted. I don't remember anything in the chemistry department being impacted.

i got in for biochem/chem, is it difficult?

not especially so. i mean, there will always be people who fail every class they attempt and there will be a few who breeze through the same classes ... but our pass rates are pretty reasonable and professors certainly aren't there to fail you. i've TAed for many of the professors and they're generally happy to seek TA input, like "student X should be bumped from a B+ to an A-, he had to babysit his lab partner the entire quarter and really did a considerate job with that"

i really liked my major ... but then again, i'm kind of a closest nerd. :)
