"Multi-tasking" on laptop in class a negative

To both the user and nearby students.

Not really a surprise to me. I remember sitting in my intro to MechE class where the kid in front of me was playing Mega Man. He kept on failing at the same jump for about 20 minutes. It was bad enough I was ready to smack him out of the way and do it myself.

RacinReaver! LOL!! How distracting. I actually like the tablets with the smaller screens for this reason. I don’t want to be distracted by what my neighbor is doing.

No surprise to me either. I always appreciate it when a professor has an explicit no-electronics rule, because I get very distracted and annoyed by people watching gifs (what’s the point if you can’t laugh out loud?) and checking Facebook all the time. I almost never ever use my computer to take notes so I hardly ever bring computers to class. And phones - really? You can’t live without knowing what your friend was doing five seconds ago?
