Is anyone here going?

anyone? no one?

i got this letter, but is this preview specifically only for URM's?? I'm Asian btw

yeah wat is it/when is it.etc etc

It's from April 15-17 and it's basically like an extended Penn Preview day. The invite is listed in the 'My Links' after you log in to check your decision if you got one.

Brown man, I'm asian too and I don't know but I think? (but are asians really urm with 20%?)

Did any of you get a call offering to pay for the weekend??

I got one too. I haven't read through it thoroughly. It sounds like a happy recruiting tool though.

Are there any urm students out there who could elaborate?

No, bexline, did you? I was wondering if I could call in and see if they'd reimburse my flight or part of it.

Yes, I received a call from the regional admission director offering to pay for everything if I came to visit.

did you have high need for FA? gosh, I'm totally calling mine today to ask about reimbursement then (hope I can get some.. oh well if I can't :P).

So are you going bexline? :]

I did it last year...if you get the chance do it. And no its not only urms but the majority is

hey haithman, since you did it last year, is it very different from the regular penn preview? is it worth going?

I dont know if there is any difference from Penn Previews (last year it was held at the same time as Penn Previews. You should def go, free shows, meet your future classmates, free food. Also if they are paying for you to go (bus etc.) there is no reason not to go. Plus the campus is gorgeous right now :)

thanks a lot for your help, haithman. I guess because I only live an hour from Penn, I'll probably be going even though I'm Asian. It should be a lot of fun.

Rest assured there were Asians present last year

Does everyone get reimbursement for airfare?

Also, has anyone gotten a confirmation email yet?

Yes it's a recruiting tool, but it's free! Take advantage of it... I mean, the free weekends are half the reason I applied to as many schools as I did.

Not everyone gets reimbursed for the flight and I got the confirmation email. Just faxed the stuff in.

They offered to pay for the whole thing (my plane ticket was $488) and I'll be picked up from the airport (so I'm not being reimbursed because I'm not paying for anything in the first place.)

Does anyone know what the festivities are like? I know there is a dance, but I'm "rhythmically challenged" and would never dance in public, much less in front of a bunch of strangers. Is there some other alternative during this time?

Did anyone else get a letter about the "University Scholars Program?" Does anyone know exactly what it is and how many people are in it?
