Oberlin sent me an email saying they would send an application soon for a multicultural sampler. Has anyone ever been to that or heard of that?

Thanks!

Thanks!

My son was also invited to apply to this. Have any CCers been to this event, or know how competitive it is to be chosen for it?

I don't know how competitive it is, nor have I been on it. But as as a student I know several people who went on the program as prospective students. It's an activity filled weekend full of events and meetings with various departments and resources and tours. As one of my friends put it "they really wine and dine you". (Without the wine of course).

An invitation is a good sign that they think you could do it. I'd suggest it. It's super informative and fun.

Thanks for the info, folks. He'll get started on the application right away!

I just sent in my application for the October Visit. Wish me Luck!!

DS just sent in his application for the November visit -- fingers crossed! Good luck to all!

My D has applied for the November visit. We're originally from Minnesota but now live in Pennsylvania.

D also applied for a similar two-nighter at Cornell U, but they don't pay for transportation. She received an invite for a Saturday "Diversity Preview Day" at Lehigh U. Apparently, Lehigh also has an overnight program in early November called "Diversity Achievers."

I've been accepted for the October Visit!!!

Congratulations, Liv09!

Congrats Liv09

Thank you!

DS just heard he was accepted for the November visit -- very exciting!

congrats to your son, supportive mom!

Supportivemom1: Did your DS receive notice by email, phone call or regular mail? Same question to you Liv09.

Plainsman, he was notified by e-mail. We were instructed to confirm acceptance ASAP by reply e-mail or phone call before they go ahead and book flights. I imagine they will notify others of acceptance if some kids choose not to go ahead with it.

Thanks Supportivemom1!

Plainsman: I got an email and was told to RSVP through phone or email contact. Same story as supportivemom1 :)
