Multicultural Weekend 2009

hey,
i’m from texas and was wonderin if i might meet anybody goin to washu on the plane, so does is anyone flying from houston, texas through southwest airlines?

So I’m attending for two days (thurs and friday) and they stilled paid for everything!
im pretty happy.

im leaving a 9 am flight out of hopkins international in cleveland and leaving in the evening on friday. does anyone know whats happening for transportation to get from the airport to campus? should we take a taxi or is there a bus system?

I’m flying out of springfield, MO at 7 am. You people from California make me feel sad that I’m so alone.

Last year they arrange to pick students up from the airport and bring to campus.

FHN

I am flying out of Chicago Midway on Thursday at 3:30. It looks like I may be the only one coming that late.

i’m flying out of boston thursday at 9am. will i meet anyone either there or on the connecting flight from detroit?

FHN_dent: My d is flying from Kansas City @ 9:35 AM, landing in St. Louis @ 10:30.

cubsfan - Aw man… I’m flying really early then.
No none else from Chicago?

I got all my materials in the mail and I’m really anxious and excited! I hope it’s fun.
Now just for the student host to contact me…

Yay, someone’s on my flight!
starryidsurprise: I suppose blue is a bit common. But it’s the easiest, since everyone is bound to have something blue. Woot, Bay Area represent!

Anyone flying out from NY (JFK) at 10:40?

Hey, I’m also at San Jose Intl Airport, 6:20 AM, transferring at Phoenix. My boyfriend is, too. There will be a substantial amount of Washu people! So excited.

Xiadane:

I don’t think you are early. My guess is there will be a number of students on each of our flights. The Chicago area is usually pretty well represented.

Oh for the Multicultural Celebration…thingie… when we stay with our hosts… do we follow them around? Or…erm…(not really sure how to phrase this) do we go in a group and err… decide on our own (for instance…erm… wandering/visiting campus on our own)?

Wait, is this Diversity Weekend? I’m waiting to hear back from other colleges before deciding to go. yeah.

Has anyone not received their flight information yet? I’m still waiting on mine… Do you think I should call in?

I received mine like two-three days after sending in the app. They should have had their flight representative call you on your cell phone or home phone. From there, I confirmed my desired flight and got a confirmation email.

So yea I’d call if I were you, doesn’t hurt.

Superturt, I’m interested in that question as well.

yangalater: awkwarddd.

Wish I could go to this weekend… sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun. (But I would leave from SJ Int’l, so woot Bay Area!)

im flying out from newark 606 am and then transfering in detroit. anyone else??

YAY! Another Californian. :D

@FHN_dent - ehe really? I got my ticket info. approx. 5 days afterwards (prolly 'cause I submitted the form on the sunday before the wednesday they wanted the form by) And no one called me after haha. But it was “confirmed” …somehow… But that’s okay. I got the mail stuff yesterday (like the map of Washu and the stuff I should bring)

attending and excited! korean american from northern new jersey

flying out of Newark at 10:00 direct to St. Louis. for some reason out of the 5 people from my school going to the weekend, only 2 of them are on the same flight, and three of them have transfers in detroit. bad planning on wash u’s part i say!
