Multiple certifications question

Looking at the DOE website can get kind of confusing, so I am asking for your help. Am I interpreting this correctly?

http://www.mass.gov/edu/government/departments-and-boards/ese/programs/educator-effectiveness/licensure/academic-prek-12/teacher/adding-a-license.html

If I start with an initial license in general science (5-8) and would like to add an initial math license (5-8), I simply have to pass the required MTEL (like the Praxis but for Mass)?

If I start with an initial license in general science (5-8) but would like to add an initial chem license (8-12) I have to pass the chem MTEL and take a course on the addressing the curriculum/development of the new age group?

Sorry, but I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly!
