Multiple college courses

Hello! I was wondering if there were any colleges out there that let you take classes outside of your major, or if this is possible in every college. I currently want to major in english but minor in music and take other classes in Spanish, dance, art and history.

It totally depends on the school. Lots of them have general education requirements that require you to take classes outside your major.

Even if they don’t require it, they all allow it. There are limits, though - you have to take a certain number of classes to achieve your major, and there isn’t infinite room for more classes in the four years at college.

Yes, most colleges/universities in the US allow you to take classes outside your major. Some of those outside options are actually mandatory in the form of a core curriculum or general education requirements. In addition, beyond the core curriculum and the major requirements, you are also normally allowed to enroll in a number of “free electives” that can be taken in any department.
