I receieved a presidential nomination early in the application process which in turn made me an official canidate. A little later on after the interviews i received a senatorial nomination and a congressional. A total of 3…would this look good on my file? I know it increases my chances because of the vacancies to be filled but what do ya’ll think about having mutiple noms?

It doesn’t give you points, it just gives the Academy more ways to get you in.

well, certainly can’t hurt. I was happy to have two 4 years ago!

hard to believe its been that long, huh hornet. 150 days ;)

Well i know the noms give me more ways to get in…but do you think the admissions panel will see the congressional and senatorial nominations and not necessarily give me “points” but help my chances?

I spoke to some of the admissions guys at the Armed Forces bowl and i forgot to ask this question, but they told me my decision should be in by Feb. I’m curious to see how it turns out.

no, it really doesn’t. they’ll look at your file. if they want you, then they’ll use one of the three to get you in and you won’t have to worry as much about them wanting someone else more. otherwise, it really doesn’t do anything for you.

The point system(WCS) is clearly laid out. There is nothing there to give extra points for more noms. The only way you may get extra points would come through your ALO, because he/she may rack/stack you as number 1 in their rec based on the fact that you have received multiple noms.

As everyone has stated it only helps because the AFA now has multiple lists that they can pull you from compared to the person with only one nom.

In the end of the day you need to have the highest WCS on that slate to get in. That score does not include any points for noms.

Is it hard to get a nom? What info. do you put in the letter?

Look on your congressional representatives and Senator’s websites or call them.

Well how many noms doesn’t matter any more, I just got my appointment in the mail today!!! See ya’ll in June.
