Multiple Recommendations????!!!!

For BS you have to have math & english teacher alogn with 1 other or E.C. recommendation- do I have to make them do like 4 copies or how does this work? Its supposed to be sent immediately to the schools so I don't think I could make copies of it... help? thanks!

Oh, I was confused about that too. Get the common recomendation form from: [The Association of Boarding Schools - TABS](Application Deadline - BoardingSchools.com) and use that instead of the one offered by the school. That form has been approved by many schools to be used as a common form.

What I did was I put a post-it note on each form explaining the instructions. It was something like this:

1) Fill out form
2) Make four (or however number of schools) copies
3) Put a copy in each envelope and mail.

Remember to say and write thank you.
Also, write the deadline on the note. You’d be surprised how lost those papers would get on a teachers desk. In my own expirience, teachers forgot to turn them in and on the checklist online for each school i’d see which teachers didn’t turn what in. I sent an email to each teacher politely reminding them that the deadline was right around the corner. It’s okay to do that, but not fun, so I’d recommend really stressing the deadline.

Wait to send the thank you note to your teachers until a few weeks before they are due. It reminds them to do them if they haven’t already without actually having to remind them. ;)

Dang it, neatoburrito, why didn’t I think of that?! I had to email my teachers, like, two days before the deadline! Some I had to email multiple times.

Okay thanks so much! the only this I heard was that it was more personal and appreciated to use their own stuff…? Do you think thats true? And neatoburrioto-THANKS! I had been wondering how to remind them politely too. I think I’ll put a sticky on top of the applications w/ instructions and the date due, do you think thats still polite enough? Just that way I won’t have to email and I can have a date on there so if by some chance they forget when its due they’ll have a reminder besides the thank-you note:)

The schools understand that you’ll be applying to more than one school so I doubt they’ll really mind sending a common one over their personalized one. If you compare the questions, they’re pretty similar anyway.

I had to the due date on the sticky note, yet some of my teachers still forgot! I go to a public laid-back type school so a sticky note wasn’t anything unusual. Now if your school would rather have printed instructions, consider that. My handwriting sucks so I actually probably should have done that. The common forms have instructions on the top, but honestly my teachers wont even look unless I have it written out in bright colors.

haha same wth mine! thanks:) I think I’ll type it in neons! haha
