Does anyone have expereince with financial aid at IWU with mulitple children in college? We were pretty pleased with award with one in school, next year will have two and hope for decent increase in aid. I have heard some schools that require Profile ar more generous to these type of situations.

Pete, I don't have any insight since my kid's a singleton - but I'm heard that that is true from a co-worker whose 2nd will be starting college next fall.

Nice to see some activity on this board. My D has been accepted at IWU. We don't know yet whether she will be attending next year.

Chi-D1 is really enjoying her time at IWU. Could have went to higher ranked LAC's but this place felt right. They are looking to expand their out of state ratio and have increased financial aid to offset some of the economic turmoil. Strongly suggest you fill out the Profile. On our case final cost was lower than Public U.

We are pleased.

Hi Pete -
Thanks for the feedback on IWU! My d visited it her junior year & liked it very much. The only downside is that it is within a day's drive, and she has dreams of going a little further from home.

But we are pleased with the merit scholarship she received - even before any kind of need-based aid. Can't beat that! I'll be happy if she attends IWU. She's tired of having me remind her that an IWU grad is up for best actor in the Academy Awards!

My daughter graduated last year, and for her final two years we had two in college. The aid certainly did go up (of course never as much as you would like). The financial aid people are both understanding and helpful. IWU turned out to be a great school for her, she received a top flight education and is now working and living in Chicago.

Thanks Chi and Midwest. We found the administration helpful too. I am surprised Illinois Wesleyan doesn't get more action on the boards. We found it at least comparable to many similar sized schools that get more play.

Will let you know. My son has been accepted to Wesleyan and it is one of his very top choices, but $$$ will definitely be a factor in where he goes. He has several acceptances already and I will let you know how Wesleyan goes as far as meeting financial need. He is our second child in college-first child does not attend there. I believe the Wesleyan financial aid letters can go out as early as mid-February. We had our FAFSA and Profile filed by January 15. :)
