I know that most colleges will take two teacher recommendations, preferably one in science/math and one in history/English.
The thing is, I know two teachers from math/sci area that will write strong rec's for me and 3 in history that will write me excellent ones. Is it possible to get recommendations from all of them and have them send the rec's to different college?
for example:
sci teacher A
math teacher B
hist teacher C
hist teacher D
hist teacher E
I send A and C to Yale, B and D to Northwestern, A and E to NYU, etc.

and the point of that is?? How about choosing whomever you think is the strongest and have them write them all. Or, maybe you are trying to do some market research for future classes, and tell them which recs helps you get accepted? really - these teachers are all very busy writting other students recs. Don't waste their time!

I agree; there's very little point to this. It isn't going to help you, and speaking as somebody whose mother is a high school teacher and spends hours and hours laboring over each and every one of her recs, it is just not fair to the teachers to make them do extra work.
