Multiple Transfer CC's

Hi all,

I will be transferring to a community college in New York from a school in North Carolina. I currently have 39 credits at the NC school. The community college in NY only accepts 30 credits designated as TR on my transcript, so that leaves room for 30 credits to graduate with an Associate’s. However, I am planning to apply for transfer at a University further down the line to finish my Bachelor’s. This potential University has explicitly stated that they will not even consider an application if that applicant has more than 60 credits. So following this information, should I only plan to take 21 credits at this community college in NY (39 at the NC college and 21 at the NY college? I don’t want to be prevented from being able to apply to the future University for making a silly mistake and taking too many credits at the NY college.

Thanks.

You need to have a more detailed discussion with the target university. It is possible that the no-more-than-60 credit rule really means that they only want transfers who enter after the freshman or sophomore year. Lots of CC students end up with more than 60 credits - especial students in situations like yours.

@happymomof1 Ok. I will do that. Thank you.
