I just got my AP score and I passed BC Calc with a score of 4. I am not so sure of whether to take Multivariable Calculus first semester or not?

Since I am doubling up on bio and chem, is the multiv. calc too much? I want to at least take a math (especially calculus since I took it) before I forget everything. I took Stats in 11th grade but hated it but managed to pull off a 3 for the AP test. I still undoubtedly hate stats.

I also found out about Passalauqua teaching Bio 141 for Fall 2011. Does anyone know maybe what time and on what dates she might be teaching?

Multivariable here isn’t that hard for most people w/ calc BC credit (unless you’re taking the one w/ physics applications), so you should be fine with that on top of chem and bio. You could probably take stats (MATH 107) 2nd semester, which almost everyone will tell you is a joke, even for people who never did ap stat in HS. Just be aware that almost all the sections for both classes for fall 2011 are full right now, so you’ll have to rely on a/d/s or overloading to get in.

And they haven’t put up which sections the profs are teaching biol 141 on OPUS or the Course catalogue, probably because either the bio department hasn’t yet finalized the teaching schedules or doesn’t want people picking sections based on the professor teaching it(which always ends up w/ the easy sections being filled first, while the new or harder profs, or those w/ 8:30 sections filling up last).

take linear algebra. Its easier than calc 3. I would say its about as easy as Calc 1. Stats would be the easiest if you just doing it for a GER but if you hate stats go for linear algebra

I thought as incoming freshman, we pick our classes during orientation? Do we? I checked on Opus and most multivariable calc classes were already closed, but I thought we chose our classes with our advisers since I heard something about them saving some spots for incoming freshman. Ahhh…am I too late?

As for Linear Algebra, isn’t that class suppose to be harder than multivariable? I thought BC credit wouldn’t let you skip that far?

Linear Algebra is one of the easier maths that is not Calc 1. As an incoming freshman you pick classes the first week you arrive unless you are apart of some scholar programs.
