theoneo - NAIMUN was a lot of fun. Sadly I think it'll be my last conference while I'm in high school. Does North go to PMUNC? I think I've seen you in the Princeton boards did you apply early?

North went to PMUNC back in like 2002 or something. We haven't gone in at least three years. My friend and I plan on changing that next year.

I've posted on the Princeton board a couple times, but I'm a junior.

Hey, savoirfaire and theoneo, I'm attending JHUMUNC this year! I'm the United States on the Legal Committee. Do you have any friends on my committee? I'm so excited!

Someone...UC berkeley?

BMUN...anhyone?

A couple frosh from my school are in Legal - Ireland and Nigeria. I think it's their first conference.

My school has one novice and one relatively experienced delegate on Legal (~6 conferences?). I think they're representing Middle-Eastern countries..

6 is just "relatively" experienced? How many conferences do you guys go to? We go to 3/year, but most people just go to 1/year. This is my 5th and I've gone to more conferences than most members of our club!

is ANYONE going to the UMass Amherst Conference. I feel so lonely. :((((

We're at the Holiday Inn for JHUMUNC.

Whoo! Pretty good conference. I've had better (and the awards were ****ed up as hell), but my school did alright and my chair was hot. I'm happy.

WHAT IS UP WITH DALTON AND THEIR BURBERRY SCARVES?!

maybe it's part of their uniform? i wonder if dalton has some kind of club/class for this because it's insane that they won nearly every award/ had at least one award in each committee.

Nope, no class at Dalton. They don't even have a coach! But yeah, all of them are amazing. Some are nicer than others, however.. And the Dalton kid in my committee did not sport a Burberry scarf.

theoneo: 6 conferences includes DC area locals, which less competitive compared to nationals. Locals usually have 400-500 people, which means smaller committees, which means more opportunity to get an award. Plus, they're usually two days (3 sessions), and nobody takes them nearly as seriously as one would a national conference.

It's not normal to have MUN classes? I think like all the DoDDs-Europe schools over here have a class for it.

My school definitely doesn't have a class. We sort of help each other out, since most of us are friends outside of MUN. We barely have meetings, even.. just optional ones to distribute info to novices.

im sad everyone's ignoring me. Anyone going to UMASS Amherst conference? perhaps acknowledge my existence and say "No" so i know no one is skipping over my post. argh.

Aw, I'm sorry, greendayfan. Unfortunately, my team won't be attending that conference. We're attending two more DC-Area conferences and one at VCU. =/

GreenDayFan - no

savoirfaire - our club is like that too (with almost no meetings). I've only heard of one conference around here (SJMUN) that's fewer than 4 days long, though.

My friend said the Dalton freshman who won best in his committee had already gone to 3 conferences. My school only goes to 3 per year. It must be awesome being filthy rich. I hear they have stray $100 bills in their pockets.

My school just started an International Politics class two years ago (i.e. MUN for credit). They meet once a week after school from 6 until 9:30. I took it all last year, and this year I go hang out there even though I'm done and have all the credits I can get out of it. We're a public school btw... we pay for all our trips ourselves, basically.

We go to three conferences a year too - one here, one in Montreal and one in Paris.

We just had our local one last weekend and cleaned up! It's pretty awesome... my school had won best delegation seven years in a row and then lost last year but we got it back!! We won best delegate on all three major committees, honorable mention on two, and both best delegation and honorable mention for best delegation. It was my last conference of senior year and helping win best delegation for my school made it particularly awesome!

I'm going to miss MUN sooooo much until I can do it again in university!

savoirfaire! I remember who Mexico was in my committee! He was an East Asian kid named Mike, right? He might remember me and my friend (Nigeria and Israel), since we worked together and talked at the committee dinner and everything. Ask him!

NAIMUN--went and won baby
