Murphree area for Sophomore

I'm going to be a sophomore in the fall and I want to live in a single/two room double/ three room triple in the Murphree area. Any suggestions on what would be the best hall/room type and any tips on living there( or example one person told me to pick farther away from university because midtown gets loud)?

Also if anyone has the floor plans for any of the buildings in this area that'd be great! Thank you :)

For a more social (friendly) atmosphere, I would pick Sledd Hall since it is the nicest of the older buildings (i.e. Buckman, Thomas, Sledd, and Fletcher).

There are no singles in Murphree Hall, but the two room doubles are nice. Only problem is that Murphree Hall can be very antisocial and you sometimes have to wait to use the shower. With Sledd, Buckman, Thomas, and Fletcher there are multiple bathrooms on the same floor.

Personally I would pick Sledd Hall since its the farthest from mid-town and right in the middle next to the Commons to do laundry (A BIG PLUS). Also, its right in the center of campus and you dont get much noise when it comes to game days as you do in Murphree Hall. That was the most annoying part cause it got really loud.

If you do pick Sledd Hall, id pick the third floor. I have been on that floor and they tend to have bigger rooms when compared to the first floor. Hope this helps! If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

I’m cautious about living in Sledd because I’ve heard there’s a big problem with humidity to the point where your room can grow mold. Is this true?

In the Summer, that is the case with the entire Murphree Area since the buildings are old but during the Fall/Spring it is not that bad, and its even better away from the 1st floor.

Althougth, Fletcher is notorious for mold and asbestos so I would avoid that one lol
