Murphree Hall

Hi! I’ve been trying to find a dorm for Fall 2018. I’ve been looking at dorms close to most classes and bus stops. Murphree Hall seems like a good location for what I’m looking for but I’ve seen mixed reviews about the dorms.

Does anyone know any specifics about this Hall? I’ve heard some people say the dorms are ugly on the inside but they have a lot of space compared to other dorms in the area. Is there any other housing that are good for freshmen? I’ve been looking at North Hall since I’m on the pre-med track. Thanks in advance!

My S and I both liked Murphree a lot. It is in a great location and the dorms are very historical feeling with nooks and crannies. I think it is definitely a taste preference in that they are definitely older inside and the bathrooms are nothing to write home about. The space was so much better than at Rawlings and the room had s sink in it which was a huge plus. I only really got to see my S’s room though, so I don’t know how much they vary from room to room. He was able to choose his room though. He thought by choosing a room starting with 1 it would be on the ground floor, but it was actually on the 4th floor, so be aware that the room numbers are not necessarily logical.
