are mus 15 discussions mandatory? what's the structure of the class like? i'm a junior taking three tough major classes this quarter and i'm looking for an easy gpa booster class that doesn't require much work this quarter. are there any classes other than mus 15 this quarter that i should be looking into?

a class that does not require or does not need attendance would be nice

I think it depends on the professor if the sections are mandatory or not. I took the class with two different professors (both of which aren’t teaching it this quarter) and I think we had some sections that were mandatory throughout the quarter and others that weren’t.

Either way, it’s an incredibly fun and easy class. Most classes you just watch a lot of music videos and talk about the history of the subject. You might have a few short writing assignments for the quarter with a midterm and final. It’s all easy though.

I took MUS15 (Hip Hop) and the sections were mandatory. It really depends on your professor but an extra hour in discussion really won’t hurt you that much.

i’m not tripping about the extra hour. it’s just that next quarter, without the discussion, i have really nice multi hour empty blocks that allow for me to work, but all the discussion times screw it up. that’s why i was wondering if there was another similar class that would be pretty easy too.

I was going to take mus126 (cross listed with an ethnic studies course) that looked pretty easy from the CAPE evaluations. I havent taken it but it might be worth a shot.
