Hello everybody! I'm interested in pursuing a career as a museum curator but, at the same time, want to pursue my interests ancient history, music composition, playwriting, creative writing, mythology, and the German language and, thus, I am looking for a college with a limited core. Can you review the list of colleges and their relevance to museum studies and possibly suggest any more colleges that will allow me to pursue my career as a curator and allow me to take courses in all my interests? Here's a list:
University of Rochester, Sarah Lawrence College, Connecticut College, Hobart and William Smith, Wheaton College (Mass.), Skidmore, and possibly Fordham, Beloit, and Earlham
Thank you soooo much!

First - don't worry about "core" courses. In most cases you'll have plenty of choices that will fit in with your interests. And anyway the core or whatever its called at any given school is pretty much the same everywhere.

Second - museum curatorships will normally require at least an MA. Big name places will be looking for a PhD. Since you mentioned Ancient History, Mythology and German you might want to look into Classics as an undergrad major. You'll get to take Latin, Greek, plenty of history, and you'll need German for grad school.

Though as a former Buckeye it pains me, the University of Michigan has a fantastic program both in Classics and Classical Art and Archaeology that has a significant museum studies component:
