I'm just curious...I never hear these 2 schools mentioned on these forums. D was accepted to both with financial incentives from AIB, along with Pratt, SVA, and the other usual suspects. Is there a reason no one mentions them? Are they just not as good, is it that simple? Thanks in advance for your insights.

I did look at the Museum School of Boston. They have a joint program with Tufts. You get a degree from Tufts. The catch is that you must be accepted into both schools if you want to live on the Tuft's campus. Moreover, commuting from Tufts to Museum School takes 45 minutes each way by bus. YUCH!

In addition, I didn't get the feeling that they had a very strong program in most areas other than for pure fine arts such as painting. When I spoke to someone in admissions, they confirmed that their program isn't the strongest in applied arts. After that conversation, I stopped my investigation of the school.

Ok, that makes sense. Any idea why no one talks about AIB? Did you check that school out? I'm assuming not, and if not, why, if you don't mind me asking. Is it just a sub par school?
Thanks

I can't really give you any specific information on AIB other than the fact that my daughter attended a private school for the arts just outside of Boston. The visual arts teachers at her school did not recommend AIB and in the past 4 years not a single visual arts major from her school went there.

Good to know, thanks!
