Does anyone know where I can find out about Masters programs in Museum studies? How do I find out which ones are respected and good quality?

I'd first look for universities with good museums!

Then look at the programs' placement record.

For a place to start try:

or
http://www.umich.edu/~ummsp/home.htm
or
http://www.extension.harvard.edu/museum/

If you approaching this from an artistic direction (rather than a historical one), then check out CCA's program: http://www.cca.edu/academics/curatorialpractice/

Williams College offers an MA in Art History in conjunction with the Clark Museum. This is one of the best routes to museum work in the country. So many museum directors and top curators are Williams grads that they're known as the Williams Mafia.

Most universities offer the PhD instead of a masters. Aside from Williams some other masters programs that I'm aware of are NYU Institute of Fine Arts, Brown, Bard and Christie's (the auction house).

The key is to have excellent connections for placement at museums for internships and eventually jobs. I know that Williams is very strong in this area, but I'm not too familiar with the others.

You might ask this question on the Arts board.
