I am going for a music minor and wanted to know if it's possible to take a Music 128 without taking Music 20A, 20B, and 26AC, or any equivalents? The specific one I want to take is a film music class offered this summer, and I've played an instrument for 10 years and could probably pass out of 20A but will probably take it in the fall just to get another good grade on my transcript. Any suggestions?

Totally possible. I played an instrument for a while too and still took 20A, and it was worth it. The class is well-structured with pretty fun activities in class and assignments and an easy A. It definitely made the whole semester much more enjoyable and relaxing.

Yes. I took 128B, 128E, and 128R without taking any music theory classes. I was a music minor too, but you don’t need a strong background to do well.
