I play cello and piano, and I think I play both of these instruments well enough to record and send them to colleges. However, the CA arts supplement has a limit of 10 minutes for music. My question is: can I record 10 minutes of both cello and piano, or do I have to fit both cello and piano into the 10 minutes?

My son e-mailed this same question to a few orchestra directors (piano and marimba) and they said to make a DVD with both instruments that is 10 minutes total–tough, I know! My son just finished his. He really wanted to do a Chopin Polonaise (C# minor) but it was 7.5 min (about 6 if you leave off the DC al coda), too long to get the other pieces in, so he went with 2 shorter piano pieces and 2 short marimba solos to keep just under 10 minutes. Good luck!

thanks! i’m actually learning the exact same polonaise! coincidence!
