<p>You’ll want a pair of comfortable boots that you don’t mind getting dirty in wet snow, cold rain, salt, mud, and other muck when the weather is bad. A decent pair of insulated hiking boots works pretty well for winter boots. That’s what I wear all winter here in Buffalo. S has a pair of lined LLBean Bean Boots (aka Maine Hunter Boots, I believe) that he took to Russia; that’s likely what he’ll bring to St. Olaf.</p>
