Question about admissions and music awards and exclusive competitions. Are Admission officers familiar with different types of competitions, music festivals, and selective programs? For example, programs like NYSOS or Aspen are considered very selective and highly sought-after global programs in the music performance world. How much of an influence these awards or will have on a Freshman undergraduate application. Would Aos weigh them at all when deciding on the applicant?
Just make sure to use the entire name for the competition, not its abbreviation (or include the abbreviations with entire names in the additional info section) and describe in brief terms out of how many teams, how large the competition is etc. Make sure to select the appropriate award tier as well (state/regional, national, international etc.)
