Music Business Grad program @ NYU

Hey guys, I'm a senior I guess at Otago univeristy here in New Zealand doing a double degree with a Bachelor of Music With 1st Class Honours and a Bachelor of arts with a communication studies major and a marketing minor (nearly a major but the way it is taught here is just plain dumb!). I'm looking at taking NYU Steinhardt's Master's program in Music Business. Is there anyone who knows anything about this? Any grads or students? It seems like a good program, but websites can be deceitful.

I was also looking at Columbia College Chicago's similar program, however as a tier 4 school it doesn't seem like it would be worth the effort (although it would be a lot cheaper!).

Thanks guys

You might want to repost your question on the music major forum here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/.

There have been previous threads about Steinhardt's undergrad program, as well as other programs.

In general, it's consistently cited as one of the better programs, plus so much of the business is contacts, and NY city may well be one of the better places to make them.

A couple of things to consider are your international status (may or may not be an issue), NY city is tremendously expensive, and Steinhardt historically has always been a tough undergrad admit. I'm assuming the same holds true for the grad programs.

Good luck.
