I am currently a junior in HS and am thinking that I would like to major in music business in college. I know that Belmont has this major, but am looking for any others that have this too. I am a decent student... not Ivies or anything, but get mostly B+'s in Honors/AP classes so far. I have decent extra curriculars, with a mix of sports ( 3 a year) and volunteer activities. If you know any schools that I would be a match for and that have this major please tell me. Thanks.

Syracuse has just introduced a music industry major that pulls from the Newhouse School of Communications, the Visual and performing arts school, and the school of management. Looks like a great program:

Also, go to google. Click on advanced search. Limit your domain to .edu Then do a search for music industry major or music business major. The other programs out there will quickly turn up. You may also want to look into entertainment management as a related major. (Use same search technique to find it)

Hey, Look into University of the Pacific....sounds great to me! USC is excellent also, but may be more difficult to get into. Cheers

I understand that the University of Georgia has a new music business major.

Rolling Stone puts out a college Guide- "Schools that Rock". I think you'll find the book helpful. I was able to get it at my local library. If not, I am sure you can get it through Amazon.

My boyfriend at the University of Puget Sound is majoring in music management. It's one of our strongest programs.

Are the music industry studies at all these listed colleges in the undergraduate school only, or do any of them have graduate programs in this area?

definitely check out USC. USC's a staple in the entertainment industry, so you'd probably get some respect for having your degree in Music Industry (which compared to other schools' programs, seems pretty established). it's also dead in the heart of LA, i'm sure there'd be tons of opportunities for experience and internships.

Denver! has an excellent joint degree program.
