Anywho, additional info for those looking http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/957443-music-business-industry-management-technology-production.html

OSU has a pretty good music business program, a few of my friends are in it. I’ve always heard the University of North Texas in Denton, just north of Dallas, has one of the nation’s premier music programs.

Of course, one that goes without saying (but hasn’t been mentioned here yet) is the Juilliard…if you’re exceptional.

Neither U North Texas or Juilliard offer any degree options within the music business/production/technology/management-administration disciplines. A renowned performance or music education/academic program does not automatically preclude a degree pursuit in all music disciplines.

The Thornton School of Music has a fine Music Industry major. Los Angeles is both a media and business center which offers a wealth of internship opportunities. Thornton celebrated a 125th anniversary this year.

Faculty includes Midori Oto, Ralph Kirshbaum, Stephen Hartke, Carl St. Clair, Pepe Romero, Shelly Berg, Daniel Pollack, Erica Muhl, Vince Mendoza, Lucinda Carver, Peter Stumpf, Frank Ticheli and Morten Lauridsen.
